About

5 years ago I would have described myself as a language instructor who loves photography and motorcycles. A lot can change in a short time.

I was diagnosed with advanced glaucoma at the age of 36. Dealing with vision loss proved to be both mentally physically challenging. Along the way I have tried to learn more about the new limitations I face, ways to overcome the difficulties, and how to continue pursuing my interests despite vision loss.

Riding Blind is an expression used in mountain biking to describe navigating a single track trail for the first time, with no knowledge of what corners, drops, obstacles, dangers and joys might lie ahead.

This blog was created to share information I pick up along my journey, and maybe even help someone else in the future.

Ride on!
